Saved By An Angel
64This is not my poem; I am merely the messenger. I am acting as a liaison between a poet, who chooses to be faceless, and his angel, who must remain nameless. Its so romantic and tragic; it just kills me. So without further adieu, I present his poem:
I remember long ago,
a rainy afternoon and a day away from school,
you walked into my life with a snide remark,
and a quick smile.
My breath stopped the moment I saw you.
we danced a dance of words,
but never of hearts,
we missed out on a rare opportunity,
to love one another unreservedly.
We missed out on all of the passion
we shared for one another because we
did not take the time to care not for
what others thought of us.
Now we have met again.
You found me on a stormy shore
where I lay lonely and cold.
You breathed life into a lifeless soul,
and warmed me with your heart.
I love you still my one true love,
even though we must never intertwine.
Our lives are now separate,
you have a spouse,
and I have mine.
We can now only live out our love
within our dreams.
A fantasy never to be realized.
I missed you so,
and now miss you more.
You have brought me back
from the dead.
My angel.

Wow! So romantic and divine! I love it.
A lovely work of pain, joy and hope. Thank you and the poet for sharing.
This is painful and beautiful all in one! A lovely reflection in itself. Thank you for sharing it. I hope it finds the intended eyes.

How beautiful, such passion, thanks for being the messenger.
amazing! I actually have one of my own! we live across the country from each other, always in love, always missing. thank you for sharing...
Sometimes the passion unrealized and unfulfilled is better than the reality might ever be. I love this poem. It makes me want to cry.
Beautiful, purely beautiful. Remind me so much of Lord Byron's poem 'When we two are parted.' -sigh- Thank you for sharing this, Randy.
Very beautiful...I believe he has touched many with this lovely poem. I can see that many of us have a special person in our lives of whom we could miss in ths way. I hope he has the opportunity to contact her personnally to catch up! This was great of you, Randy, to display this for him.

Yes, thank you, Randy for posting this for us... It will be something that I will ALWAYS be able to have.
The Poet, thank you for writing this and for loving me, still, after ALL these years, I too, feel alive, and as for the "happy" ending, it is just this, we will always be friends, and I will always have the beautiful memories, now this beautiful poem... Thank you.
very interesting
Forever is fleeting and takes many forms, doesn't it?
Beautiful Poem
Wow, this really is a beautiful and powerful form of poem.
He sure has touched my heart! Now, is he still single? hehe j/k
It is beautiful yet tragic all in one....xo
Feel the menancholy, thats what wrinting makes us. It makes us feel. Commendable, nice and poetic.
Beautiful poem. Happy endings are relative. I would say the poem is tragic however, he seems to have found new life in his angel even if he is separated from her. So perhaps it is not so tragic after all. I would call it bitter-sweet.
There is nothing to be added here, but I have to wonder...if we could actually come to grips with the fact that 'this is our only life and time is limited, would we still squander the moments we have to conceal the lies that hold us prisoner'.
i had to come again and read this over and over again. Surprisingly it shook me harder and throw a huge bundle of feeling and emotions that i hadn't felt in a while. The work and feeling put into this poem is breathtaking. AMAZING!!!!
Randy, you have given not only the two involved but also the rest of us a very great experience. To the poet, you have written feelings that are felt by many and put them to read. To console ourselves, to let us know we are aren't alone and shouldn't feel shame for feelings that linger for that one true love. Thank you for clearing my conscious and allowing me to enjoy the feelings I have. To Angel, thank you for coming and writing a lovely message back. I read the poem and teared up. Then I read Randy's, The Poet's, and Angels comments and I received a feeling of warmth. Thank you, all three, for sharing such a heart felt experience.
Painful and beautiful.
So very sad yet romantic and poignant too. Thanks for sharing.
Very nice !
Dear heart, I've said it elsewhere and after reading this I have to say it again here: God bless you and keep you in his hands.
I'd like to add you as a guardian angel
