If I could take the scars brother
From your heart
Should I?
How long ago did you know
How much longer will you stay
If I could give you back the ten years
You lost treading in a loveless stream
A victim of the harsh current you helped create
If I could go back and tell her to be true
Then turn and say the same to you
Should I ?
But these are your lessons to learn
Not mine
And who would you be today without them
Lessons of love and loss and forgiveness
Save you brother from them
Should I?
If I could take you back to that place
Where you both had hope and vision
A place where you shared love
Should I?
And even find it
Could I?

WOW. First read so powerful. Great poem, Randy. Going to read it again now.
Well truth is a bitter pill to swallow...sometimes.
Randy,
This poem was so real for me. Well done. I enjoyed reading this one so much. If only we all could go back and intervene and met with common sense, before heading out on the ever painful path of adoration. Bravo, Randy.
Great one! It is always easier to look back on where we came from as to where we are going. I enjoyed your spin on it!:)
very good. I am glad reading your poem.
Wouldn't it be something to be a re-matchmaker. to bring bitter hearts and souls to a compromise, a co-promise to give it another go, to mend the snapped heartstrings and listen to the sweet harmony strummed between two again, I would start with my mom and dad, who divorced after 29 and a 1/2 years, and I just wanted to scream why??? after so long together, why??? But she went on to die at sixty in a closet size room filled with my youngest sisters dirty clothes, and he just came off life support, but needs surgery. Life goes very fast and we take many detours that
hurt us in the long run...great Poem. ~~MFB III

God! This is stuff of legend:
How much longer will you stay
If I could give you back the ten years
You lost treading in a loveless stream
A victim of the harsh current you helped create
Impossible as it seems, you are getting BETTER...I'd buy you a drink if I could...Or a book deal! Wonderful.
